PIERCE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT REPORTS

October 5 6:51 a.m.

A Deputy responded to a driving complaint on Hwy. 29 near McKay Ave. in Spring Valley. Contact was made with the driver, who didn’t realize his driving was bad. There were no signs of impairment.

6:57 a.m.

A Deputy was dispatched to an address on Cty. Tk. C in Bay City for a trail camera that was reported stolen. Upon arrival, it was learned the camera was not stolen and had fallen into the weeds near their deck.

8:02 a.m.

A Deputy assisted the Pierce County Jail in retrieving home monitoring equipment from an address. The subject was advised to report to the St. Croix County Jail by 9 a.m.

10:50 a.m.

A caller was going to report a delivery truck swerving near the intersection of Cty. Tk. C and Hwy. 10 in Ellsworth. Ellsworth PD advised it was due to the heavy winds. No issues.

2:08 p.m.

Deputies were dispatched to River Falls near the intersection of 570th Ave. and Hwy. 10. for a vehicle that drove into the ditch. The driver said he fell asleep prior to the crash. Photographs and information were collected. 2:55 p.m.

A political sign was reported stolen on 950th St. in River Falls.

5:01 p.m.

A vehicle was observed parked on the side of the roadway near the intersection of 850th St. and Hwy. 29 in River Falls. Contact was made with the driver who stated, “You caught me, I was drinking.” The driver passed a sobriety test and was under the legal limit.

5:15 p.m.

A wallet was reported lost in Hager City near the intersection of Hwy. 63 and Cty. Tk. VV.

5:42 p.m.

A report of stolen plants was taken on 810th St. in Ellsworth.

Two controlled burns were reported to dispatch. The callers were advised to obtain any required permits and to call back when complete.

October 6 1:17 a.m.

Deputies were dispatched to an address on 830th St. Hager City for a suspicious vehicle. Deputies checked the quarry near where the truck was parked. Two individuals were located picking rocks on private property. Both individuals were escorted off the premises and advised the owner would be contacted about the trespassing.

6:53 a.m.

Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of 450th St. and 465th Ave. in Ellsworth for cows in the roadway. The owner was notified and tried to find someone to respond, but the Deputies were able to get the cows back into the pasture.

8:00 a.m.

Deputies were requested to respond to an address on 1090th Ave. in River Falls for a vehicle that was on the complainant’s property. It was learned the vehicle owner was hauling beans and parked it there.

9:38 a.m.

A mail carrier reported a homeowner on 130th St. in Spring Valley hadn’t picked up his mail in about a week and was concerned for his welfare as he lives alone and sticks close to home. Contact was made with the homeowner, who reported having health issues. He was advised to call if he needed any assistance or aid.

9:46 a.m.

Hunting equipment was reported found in Beldenville near the intersection of Cty. Tk. G and Hwy. 63.

11:37 a.m.

A warrant pickup was attempted for Glenwood City/St. Croix County on N. Sabin Ave. in Spring Valley. The second attempt was successful, and the subject was transported to the county line.

2:41 p.m.

A Deputy was called to the area of 750th St. in Ellsworth for tires in the ditch. Five tires were located.

3:23 p.m.

A caller on 710th St. in Ellsworth reported that he received a strange phone call asking if he wanted a haircut. The complainant said he thought this was a quote in a movie used as a threat. The caller said the call came up anonymous, but hours later a number showed up on his caller ID. Attempts to call the number went to voicemail and a message was left.

6:38 p.m.

Deputies responded to River Falls near the intersection of 640th Ave. and Cty. Tk. E for a vehicle parked near a bridge. Contact was made with the driver, who stated she was out rock picking. The driver was advised that it was private property and needed to leave.

6:50 p.m.

A Deputy was requested to take a report of damage to a residence on 650th Ave. in Spring Valley. The homeowner was unsure if the damage happened accidentally or if a subject tried to enter the residence. Photographs and information were collected.

8:03 p.m.

Deputies responded to assist Ellsworth FD with a structure fire at an address on Hwy. 72. Once on scene, a resident with multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants was observed. The subject was taken into custody and the fire did not appear criminal.

Three controlled burns were reported to dispatch. Similar instuction were given as above.

October 7 6:47 a.m.

A driver was stopped and cited for speeding near the intersection of 1005th St. and Hwy. 35 in Hager City.

7:22 a.m.

A report was received of a vehicle stuck near the train tracks by the intersection of 1240th St. and Hwy. 35 in Prescott. After arriving on scene, multiple individuals were observed attempting to remove the vehicle from being stuck. The railway company wished for trespassing citations to be issued to all. The operator was also cited for Operating W/O a License.

8:09 a.m.

Multiple complaints were received regarding a light shining on a political sign that is blinding at night near the intersection of 1216th St. and 757th Ave. in River Falls. The owner stated the light would be taken down prior to dark that night.

2:33 p.m.

Deputies responded to 825th St. in Hager City for a female loitering in a parking lot calling in the unwanted company of a person attempting to purchase her dog. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other. The business owner requested the complainant to leave.

Two controlled burns were reported to dispatch. The callers were advised to obtain any required permits and to call back when complete.

October 8 10:40 a.m.

A driver was stopped and cited for speeding on 1005th St. near Hwy. 35 in Hager City.

9:09 p.m.

A Deputy was dispatched to the Saint Croix River in Prescott for an object on the river that appeared to be on fire. It was checked on and turned out to be a boat with lights on and not on fire.

Eight controlled burns were reported to dispatch. The callers were advised to obtain any required permits and to call back when complete.

October 9 12:29 a.m.

A reported suspicious person on 825th St. in Hager City was sleeping in their vehicle. The subject was okay and stated he was homeless.

12:56 a.m.

A driver was stopped for stopping in the lane of traffic, failure to follow lane, operating left of center and speeding on Cty. Tk. VV in Hager City. The driver was arrested for Operating M/V While Intoxicated and cited for Operating Left of Center. The driver was released.

12:58 a.m.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of E. Maple St. in River Falls to assist RFPD with a warrant attempt. Assistance was provided as needed and one male subject was taken into custody. 12:46 p.m.

A caller reported a feral cat stuck between retaining wall blocks on 640th Ave. in Ellsworth. Deputies were able to free the cat.

5:20 p.m.

A vehicle displaying two different license plates was stopped for speed in River Falls near the intersection of 742nd Ave. and Cty. Tk. F. The driver stated one of his other plates was stolen and was issued a citation for speed.

5:26 p.m.

Deputies were dispatched to River Falls for a vehicle crossing the center line and almost going into the ditch. The vehicle was eventually stopped by Ellsworth PD. The driver was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated – 1st Offense.

6:58 p.m.

A driver was looking for sand to fill up sandbags near the intersection of 985th St. and Hwy. 35 in Hager City. The driver was advised that it was private property and advised of public areas where sand could be acquired.

Six controlled burns were reported to dispatch. The callers were advised to obtain any required permits and to call back when complete.

October 10 2:20 a.m.

A vehicle was stopped for speed on Hwy. 63 near 825th St. S. in Hager City. The smell of marijuana was coming from the vehicle upon contact. The driver and passenger were issued citations for Possession of THC and verbally warned for speeding.

7:28 a.m.

A suspicious person was reported slumped over in a car near the intersection of Main St. and Maple Ave. in Plum City. Before arrival, the subject woke up and walked away from his car. 7:20 p.m.

Deputies responded to a business on Hwy. 65 in Beldenville after a customer reported that his unoccupied vehicle had been struck while parked in the parking lot. The striking vehicle was not on scene and has not been identified.

8:52 p.m.

Deputies responded to Elmwood near the intersection of 70th St. and Cty. Tk. S for a one motorcycle crash with injury. The driver was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated – 1st Offense and transported by EMS.

10:46 p.m.

A trespassing complaint was taken from 810th St. in Ellsworth.

19 controlled burns were reported to dispatch. The callers were advised to obtain any required permits and to call back when complete.

October 11 3:51 a.m.

A driver known to not have a valid license was observed operating a vehicle near the intersection of Hwy. 63 and 825th St. in Hager City. The driver was stopped and issued a citation for Operating W/O a License.

4:34 a.m.

Deputies were advised of a single vehicle accident with damage near the intersection of Hwy. 29 and Cty. Tk. E. The vehicle continued to drive towards the City of River Falls and was located and stopped. The female driver was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated – 2nd Offense.
