ELLSWORTH POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS
October 19 7:16 a.m.
A ‘No Parking’ sign was driven over and dragged into the road in the 500 block of E. Main St. The post appeared to have been broken off as though a vehicle pulling a trailer may have turned around in the lot and when exiting, the trailer hit the post, breaking it off. The incident was not observed.
A vehicle was unlocked in the 700 block of S. Piety St. 1:24 p.m.
The theft of four tires on rims was reported in the 100 block of Cty. Tk. C was reported. There was surveillance video during the time of the theft.
A minor two-vehicle accident was reported in the 600 block of E. Main St.
A large fire was observed in a driveway in the 700 block of S. Piety St. Upon investigation, it appeared to be a cabinet burning with someone attending the fire. The fire was put out and the subject was given a verbal warning after they were advised of the ordinance.
October 20 1:48 p.m.
A car was reported to have slid in the ditch near the intersection of Hwy. 65 and 610th Ave. There was no damage and the car was left until the roads were less slick.
A report was received of a disabled car on the hill in the 1500 block of N. Maple St.
A truck was reported to have rolled over on Hwy. 94 West at the Knapp exit. One occupant was found without injury. An Officer assisted as needed until State Patrol arrived.
A two-vehicle accident due to snow was reported near the intersection of Madonna St. and Maple St.
October 21 5:40 a.m.
A vehicle was observed in a yard/ditch in the 400 block of N. Maple St. The vehicle was not blocking the entryway to the property or impeding traffic.
A car that was running inside of a garage was unlocked in the 300 block of E. Summit Ave.
A citation was issued by mail to a student after a report was received indicating the subject has failed to meet any requirements for online schooling after several warning notices had been issued by the school.
A vehicle was reported in the ditch in the 300 block of N. Maple St.
Officers were sent to the 700 block of E. Campbell St. for an animal complaint. The complainant stated they observed a subject hit his dog in the back and then put the dog in the truck bed. Upon arrival, contact was made with the subject and their dog. The dog seemed uninjured and was wagging his tail when he saw the subject.
October 22 9:50 a.m.
A disorderly subject was reported in the 200 block of E. Summit Ave.
A noise complaint was received in the 900 block of Hilden Dr.
October 24 3:45 a.m.
An Officer was requested to respond to River Falls near the intersection of Cascade Ave. and Hwy. 65 to watch for a vehicle involved in a hit and run.
An Officer was Mutual Aided into the County to assist with a burglary on 387th St.
A complainant in the 400 block of E. Main St. reported a female subject that appeared distraught that was looking to use a phone. The subject was not located.
A minor two-vehicle accident was reported in a parking lot in the 100 block of S. Maple St.
A vehicle was unlocked in the 100 block of S. Maple St.
October 25 7:32 a.m.
A complainant in the 100 block of W. Main St. reported a group of mailboxes had been damaged. Upon investigation, it appeared that a truck jumped the curb and struck the mailboxes.
A debit card was reported found in the 200 block of N. Broadway St.
A vehicle was unlocked in the 700 block of S. Maple St.
