A former Spring Valley Health Care Center nurse accused of amputating a 62-year-old hospice patient’s necrotic foot without permission pleaded not guilty to three felony charges at a Feb. 16 arraignment hearing in Pierce County Circuit Court.
Brandon A. Fuhrman, 23, River Falls, posted a $50,000 signature bond in Pierce County Circuit Court on two felony sexual assault of child by person who works or volunteers with children and two sexual intercourse with child 16 or older, actor 19 or older charges Feb. 22. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and/or $10,000 in fines.
The Journal asked the Cheese Curd Festival Committee, which falls under the umbrella of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce, to tell us why the CCF is in East End. The committee is in charge of planning and executing the wildly popular June festival. The village itself only issues the permits and licenses that allow the festival to take place.
All three of Ellsworth’s qualifiers for the 2023 WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament in Madison earned a top-six spot on the podium, which meant they will have their names etched into Panthers history upon their return to Ellsworth.
