Need a ride to school? It’s time to “opt-in” for transpiration at South Washington County Schools. Open as of Feb. 10, the “opt-in” program seeks to help ensure the most efficient routing for students eligible to ride a schools bus.
Available on the Parent Campus Portal and translated into five languages in addition to English, the opt-in form must be completed by Friday March 7, 2025. New kindergarten students do not need to complete the opt-in form was their opt-in selections were made during enrollment. For those families needing to opt-in for transportation, it is asked to please complete one form per child and for every family to complete a form, even if opting out.
Non-busing zone distances are one mile for elementary school students, 1.5 miles for middle school students, and two miles for high school students. If changes to school Board policy relating to non-busing zone distances for elementary and/or middle school students are made before the 2025-26 school year, impacted families will receive additional communication about transportation before the school year begins. If one’s situation changes families can opt back in for transportation at any time, so long as the student qualifies for busing services.
Steps to opt-in include logging into the campus parent portal account, selecting “message center” the menu bar, clicking on the “surveys” tab, and completing the opt-in form and reviewing responses before hitting “complete” to submit. Those in need of an interpreter for Spanish or a different language may call 651-425-6328.
Last but not least, only one primary parent must submit a form for each child. Those with additional questions on opt-in may email info@sowashco.org
