Ellsworth’s Georgia Jones wins national pageant titles

Posted

Eight-year-old Georgia Jones of Ellsworth recently traveled to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the Miss American Coed National Pageant, where she proudly represented Miss Great Lakes Sweetheart.

Jones returned home as the newly crowned MAC Victory Sweetheart, earning the title through strong performances in formal wear, interview, on-stage introduction and optional competitions. Her pageant coach, Mary Swenson was a strong supporter in preparing Jones for the National stage.

In addition to her overall title, Jones earned an impressive five Optional National titles, including Runway, Influencer, Spokesmodel, Supermodel and Fashion. Her highest-scoring optional competition was Fun Fashion, which also contributed to her overall national title win.

While Jones is proud of her accomplishments on the pageant stage, she is especially excited about using her new title to make a difference in her community.

She recently started “Make the World Gorgeous with Georgia,” an initiative focused on helping with park and community cleanups. Through the project, she hopes to encourage others to take pride in their community and join her in giving back.

“We encourage people when they are out and about to bring gloves and plastic bags with them. Then if they notice the park or community space is in need of some TLC, they step in and help,” said Jones’ mother Sarah.

Jones loves helping others and is looking forward to continuing her community service throughout her reign as MAC Victory Sweetheart.
