Gilman Rural Fire District holds pancake breakfast

Main Street at Gilman was lined with cars Saturday, March 22 as event goers headed to the Gilman Rural Fire District Pancake Breakfast, held at Celebrations Hall.
Staffed by firefighters and held from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the well attended fundraiser treated guests to a meal that included pancakes, sausage, cheese, maple syrup, applesauce, and a choice of beverage. Meal prices for the event were $9 for adults, $6 for kids aged five to 12, and four and under free. An estimated 420 people attended the fundraiser.
Sponsors for the fire department fundraiser included Smith Bros. Meats, AG Country Farm Credit Services, Poverty Flats Syrup with Butch Podolak, Chaplinski Applesauce, Mike Chaplinski Maple Syrup, LaGrander’s Cheese, Nasonville Dairy, Gilman Cheese Corporation, Little Paradise Syrup of Rib Lake, PBR Sugar Shak, and Celebrations Hall.
In addition to breakfast, the fundraiser included a cash raffle with limit of 400 tickets and a basket raffle, allowing people to bid on different items. Basket raffle items raised a combined $4,700, while the paddle wheel raffle raised $1,050. Winners for the cash raffle are as follows, all from Wisconsin:
