The O-W Area Chamber holds another successful Business Expo

On Saturday, April 5, the Owen-Withee Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual Business Expo with approximately 30 vendors and over 300 people stopping in to visit.
A breakfast was prepared by Troy and Jenn’s Hacienda for anyone looking for a taste delight before visiting the booths. Chamber board members took turns with doing the announcing. There were prizes handed out and free items galore.
Peter Kaz did a presentation on the Clark County Crime Stoppers program and Allan Hodnett did a presentation on the “History of Owen.”
The Owen-Withee Area Historical Society presented their Golden Blackhawk Award to Art Petersen in honor of him turning 100 the same year the city of Owen turns 100. He was also honored for service to his community and his nation. Some of his many lifetime achievements are that he served in the army, has been a 4-H leader, helped with the local food pantry, and has been involved with Lutheran Brotherhood. In addition, Art is a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church and Lublin American Legion Post #547.
One of the highlights of the day was the Jail and Bail fundraiser put on by the Owen Centennial Committee. A few good sports sat in the makeshift jail, including Owen Mayor Scott Jalling, Clark County Sheriff Kerry Kirn, Clark County Sheriff’s Office Detective Aaron Ruggles, Tim Nolan, Carey Hargot, Withee Village President-elect Larry Klabon, Clark County Board Chairman Tom Wilcox, Jim Mauel, Larry Herington, and Todd Nelson.
