Owen-Withee FFA Alumni & Supporters host record-setting breakfast at Black River Orchard

The Owen-Withee FFA Alumni & Supporters brought friends, families, and community members together for breakfast at Black River Orchard on September 12, serving more than 800 guests during the morning event.
Held from 7 a.m. to noon, this year’s breakfast was the largest breakfast ever served at the orchard. The impressive turnout filled the morning with good food, laughter, activities, and community spirit.
An event of this size requires a tremendous team effort. Volunteers spent the morning preparing and serving food, assisting guests, restocking supplies, and helping wherever they were needed to keep things running smoothly.
The Owen-Withee FFA Alumni & Supporters extend their sincere appreciation to everyone who volunteered their time and energy. The success of the breakfast would not have been possible without the many FFA Alumni members, friends, family members, and community supporters who stepped in to help.
A special thank-you goes to Barb and Gordy Finkelson, who were constantly on the move throughout the event, making sure everything was running smoothly. Whether restocking scrambled eggs on the serving line, checking on volunteers, or helping guests, Barb and Gordy were always ready to lend a hand.
The breakfast offered more than a delicious meal. The FFA Alumni & Supporters organized activities for guests of all ages, including shuttle transportation to and from the parking lot and scenic rides around the orchard aboard a charming mini train. Children enjoyed riding the train while adults took part in yard games and enjoyed time together.
The morning was filled with smiles and plenty of opportunities for families and friends to connect. Children eagerly climbed aboard the mini train, families enjoyed the orchard, and community members gathered for a morning of food and fellowship.
With more than 800 people attending, the September 12 breakfast marked a milestone for the Owen-Withee FFA Alumni & Supporters and Black River Orchard. The organization is grateful to everyone who helped make the record-setting event possible.
The Owen-Withee FFA Alumni & Supporters’ next event is Family Farm Day, scheduled for Sunday, October 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wells Farm Learning Center in Owen. The community is invited to come out for another day of family-friendly activities and agricultural education.
