Ojibwe Drumming Group visits PHS

Thank you for supporting us

To the editor,

I would like to thank the Prescott Foundation, the St. Croix Valley Foundation, and the Building an All Inclusive Community (BAIC) Group for making last weekend’s performance by award winning Lac Du Flambeau Ojibwe Drum Group Tomahawk Circle possible. Unique educational opportunities do not occur without the assistance of local organizations. For well over two decades the community of Prescott and the aforementioned groups have been extremely supportive of events designed to create greater understanding and appreciation of Wisconsin’s native people. Because of this support, the community of Prescott is viewed by scores of people from the Lac Du Flambeau Reservation community as a beacon of friendliness and welcoming. Prescott residents should take great pride in the label.

Additionally, I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to current and past high school principals Josh Fiege, Dave Vortherms, Dave Bunn, and Steve Shaw for supporting important experiential learning. Also, heartfelt thanks to Superintendent Dr. Rick Spicuzza, former district administrators Roger Hulne and Carroll Lehman, and current and past Prescott School Board members for championing novel scholastic methods intended to enhance the learning experience of young people.

Thank you Prescott Foundation, St. Croix Valley Foundation, The Building an All Inclusive Community Group, and local residents for supporting such a wonderful learning experience.

Sincerely,

Jeff Ryan
